My Resume
My Professional Journey
I have been a constant employee of the agriculture industry. I grew up on a commercial cattle operation and have since transitioned to raising purebred Red Angus and Charolais seedstock. While away at college, I obviously cannot be around to help with the day to day operations of the cattle business however I still keep updated on the happenings of the ranch. I take an active part in breeding decisions, manage social media pages, and show cattle when I get the chance.

In the summer of 2023, I began working for Northwest Grain Growers where I work as a scale house operator during wheat harvest. This was my first real introduction to the wheat and grain industry and I truly fell in love with it. From the production to the marketing and selling of grain, it somewhat mirrors the cattle industry but it really is its own beast. Working for NWGG, I learned customer service skills, some technical skills, and broaden my view of American agriculture. My work for the National Agricultural Biosecurity Center has been complimented by my experience in the wheat industry. For example, grain merchandisers and cooperatives in the Pacific Northwest struggled to find the storage for this year's crop. The 2023 wheat crop had very high protein and was difficult to get sold which led to grain being kept in storage throughout the year. Multiple emergency ground piles had to be erected as a way to store this year's harvest. I am currently working on analyzing the impacts of how the Pacific Northwest's wheat harvest will impact mid west and national wheat prices.

I have held the position of Social Chair for the Western States Junior Red Angus Association for two years. I am tasked with helping my board constituents plan our annual Junior Fun night that takes place at our annual show (Western National Red Angus Show), creating social media posts for junior events and programs, and planning contests for our membership to partake in. I was elected to the Board of Directors for Junior Red Angus (the national junior association for Red Angus breeders) this past June and am looking forward to my year on the board.
